Good morning! 

Today's school cancelation was due to the unexpected icy roads. I hoped that a 2hr delay would have been enough time for the roads to improve, but the persisting ice made the roads extremely unsafe. Transportation departments also reported extremely icy and dangerous road conditions.

Currently, conditions are steadily improving and there is no more ice forecasted. I have decided to allow the high school play and the senior basketball game to take place tonight. These are events that would be nearly impossible to reschedule because of the type of event and the time in the season we are in.

I am confident that the roads will be safe to travel on and that these two incredible events will be safe to attend.
